Wow.... I really don't know what to say....which is very unlike me... but...somehow...there is enough interest in what i write to take me over the 3000 views barrier since I first started writing on September 3rd 2011.
I had no idea that so many would take an interest in my views, opinions and sometimes downright daft blog posts.
For example...I haven't posted for about a week and yet yesterday 51 people took time out of their day to read my blog...truly... I am humbled and I say thank you...to each and every one of you that continues to support me.
Secondly...who are you all???? let yourselves be known...I'd greatly appreciate any feedback..which you can do on each post, or you can email me directly at leebo89@hotmail.com. I'm also open to suggestions for topics...and yes...cooking video ideas.
I'm still editing the 8 hours worth of Thai cooking lesson videos I have to share with you all...it was amazing and the flavours are incredible.
Its also possible with Blogspot to give permissions to for other people to become 'guest speakers' so you can write a post....if this is something you'd like to do in order to try your hand at blogging, then do email me and I'll set it up for you.
The weather in Surrey today is incredible...clear blue skies, a crisp Spring morning...and so I felt compelled to go out for a run this morning...4 miles in 40.04 minutes....my legs were still a little sore from yesterday mornings spinning class....ouch. I have spinning class again tomorrow and then Thursday it is 'cylce to work day'... 20 mile round trip...
I guess I should also update you on how my volunteering is coming along....well....
Firstly, I am now a fully fledged volunteer visitor for 'The Independent Age' charity. I have been paired with 3 elderly ladies that need some company and help. You go round and make sure they are ok, do any chores that they need you to do but mainly it's about conversation...letting them know there is someone out there that cares.
One of my ladies is rapidly becoming a surrogate Grandmother to me as I have unfortunately lost all my Grandparents. Her name is Pat and has a dog called Oscar....they live in a wonderful place called Whitely Village near Hersham in Surrey....we go for walks, she makes me tea and biscuits and we chat about our lives...she's also teaching me about gardening...and in return, I am helping her with her computer skills....a fair trade.
I have also been accepted to start delivering meals on wheels to 15 people twice a month at weekends with Elmbridge Borough Council...I've been wanting to do this for a while...it pains me to think that there are people out there that don't have anybody to help them and rely heavily on this service as a source of meals. Without volunteers and the amazing work of the charities...and the generosity of the general public, who knows how different their lives might be.
Through my work, I have been pushing hard for us to get involved locally in Reading with charity work so we can go as a team and really make a difference to someone or some place by clearing a garden, painting a building etc...something that requires man power as well as money...this is a Work In Progress but i am making progress...HR are now involved and helping me set things up....come on....we CAN make a difference.
Each to their own...but I urge you....if you have any inclination to get involved in charity work, don't pause...take the leap...it's not only a fantastic way of helping others, but is extremely rewarding to see the smiles on peoples faces...knowing that you put it there.
